A significant collaboration between Gorakhpur University and Asha FM 89.6 MHz: New opportunities in media training
On 19 November, a major MoU was signed between Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University and Asha FM 89.6 MHz to provide students with professional media training and career-oriented learning opportunities.
Through this partnership, students will gain practical experience in various media fields, including:
- Media training
- Radio programming
- Script writing
- Anchoring and presentation
- Audio editing
- Live shows and ground reporting
- Documentary and podcast production
- Communication skills and project-based learning
Through the "Campus Radio Connect" initiative, the cultural, academic, and literary activities of the university will now reach the community directly.
Leadership statements
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Poonam Tandon described this collaboration as a milestone that will help students develop practical and professional skills.
She stated that joint programs will be created on important social issues including health, education, women empowerment, road safety, drug de-addiction, and voter awareness.
Asha FM Chairperson Asha Tripathi stated that this partnership will guide the creativity of youth and provide them with real studio, recording, editing, and broadcasting experience.
Placement Cell Director Prof. Ajay Shukla praised this initiative as a major opportunity for job-oriented training and internships for students.
Asha FM Director Naveen Pandey said,
"Radio is the heartbeat of society… and students will now gain real radio experience at every level, from script writing to studio work, recording, and live shows."
